Better gut health and digestion

Okay, time for a bit of potty talk!

Here are a few tips to know if your bowel is performing at its best.

1.   One meal in and one meal out. That’s right, if your gut health is perfect, after each meal you consume, you should be doing number twos.

2.   Your number twos should not smell. Think of it like a compost bin - when it’s working correctly, the rotting food is being broken down by bacteria and it doesn’t smell.

3.   Your number twos should float, not sink. Sinkers are often stinkers and means you are not getting enough fibre in your diet, which is critical for a healthy digestive tract.

Now, all that aside, the real problem isn’t how regular you are, or the odour of your number twos. The real concern is that if your bowel isn’t healthy, it isn’t able to absorb the critical nutrients to enter your bloodstream and provide your cells with all of the building blocks they need. The second critical factor is an unhealthy bowel is at a much higher risk for cancers of the bowel and colon, which are fast becoming the world’s number one silent killer.

I recommend several products to assist you in getting your gut back into health.

1. ProBio PCC® is an outstanding probiotic. What is a probiotic? As you may know, antibiotics kill off all of the bacteria in your body, therefore a probiotic is the opposite. It introduces good bacteria back into your digestive tract. So correctly balancing your digestive tract is very important, as it also makes up 70 percent of your immune system. ProBio PCC® is a (patent-pending) strain of bacteria called Lactobacillus fermentum (bacteria culture), and unlike competing probiotics, is clinically proven to survive gastric acid and effectively colonize more than two billion CFU (colony-forming units) of the proprietary strain L.fermentum PCC in the gut.

This high-quality level cannot be matched by other probiotic supplements or probiotic yoghurts currently on the market. Many claim they have high counts of probiotic bacteria, however, the challenge is they usually don’t survive the stomach acid, thus making them far less effective.

ProBio PCC® relieves symptoms related to bowel irregularity, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrhoea, and other digestive discomforts. It’s protected by ten patents and features prebiotic ingredients to promote the growth of friendly bacteria in the digestive tract.

Note: If you have been on a course of antibiotics, it is critical to add good bacteria back into your gut immediately after, since the antibiotics have not only killed the bad bacteria but unfortunately the good bacteria as well. It’s also important to know you need to completely finish any current course of antibiotics BEFORE beginning a course of ProBio PCC®.

2. Digestive Formula offers a three-step approach to the prevention and treatment of occasional indigestion.

  1. It provides a proprietary blend of plant-based enzymes to help the body digest fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. These digestive enzymes are especially helpful in relieving intolerance to fatty foods.

  2. Digestive Formula delivers a highly purified artichoke extract to assist the production of digestive juices and to help the liver metabolize alcohol. This unique ingredient helps prevent and relieve the common symptoms of occasional indigestion such as heartburn, gas, bloating, and feelings of fullness.

  3. The ginger extract helps ease nausea, a common complaint associated with eating or drinking a little too much.

Ingredients:

  • Ginger root extract (Zingiber officinale) is standardized to 5 percent gingerols.

  • Digestive Formula addresses the number one cause of indigestion - normal bile production and normal function of the liver-bile system

  • Digestive Formulas artichoke leaf extract is standardized to 15 percent caffeoylquinic acids, three times the potency of most artichoke products currently available in the U.S.

  • Digestive Formula utilizes three pH-specific proteases that become active in the digestive tract, compensating for a range of pH in the stomach before and after a meal, and for variations in each individual.

Did you know?

By the time we are adults, there are more than 400 million bacterial species and over 100 trillion total bacteria in our bodies.

That’s ten times the number of cells found in the rest of the body!
